Only toilet paper, water and waste created by the human body can be safely flushed down the toilet.

Product labeling is often misleading. Items marketed as “flushable” are regularly found in clogged pipes and broken pumps throughout the sanitary sewer system.

Flushing your trash can lead to service interruptions and expensive repairs to home and district plumbing lines. If a clog occurs in your home plumbing, the responsibility and cost of repairs fall to you. If a clog occurs in the district sewer line, the cost of repairs could be passed on to users in the form of higher user fees.

Do NOT flush baby wipes, wet wipes, tampons, dental floss, or facial tissues. Even if baby wipes/ wet wipes say ‘flushable’, they are not and should go in the trash. When wet wipes and other items meet up in the collection system with oil and grease, there’s a log jam causing backups or clogs in the collection system.

Do not flush cat pee or poop from your kitty litter box down the toilet.  Other major items not to flush are: Baby Wipes, Dental Floss, Q-tips, Cotton Balls, Diapers, Condoms, Paper Towels, Napkins, Papers, Medication, Hair, Pets (goldfish, rodents, etc), 

Everything you put down the toilet ends up in your sewer pipes and  district sewer mainlines which can cause back-ups at your home and in the system. DO NOT flush anything down except human waste and regular toilet paper.
